As a follow up from our post earlier this week “Hotel Apps… Make Them Provide Useful Services!”, here is an interesting set of statistics of the current usage and services provided by hotel mobile browsers and apps. It is interesting to note that over the past 2 years most of the focus has been around improving a mobile booking experience, hence the slight decline of the mobile hotel apps. Contrary to that 70% of the respondents expect to employ mobile apps by 2015, which links to the fact that experiences such as check-in and check-out are best provided on native hotel app experience, check in and out is now starting to get traction with double digit growth.
